Tulipop's first movie "A Midwinter Tale" premieres in Iceland

We are proud to present the very first Tulipop movie: A Midwinter Tale!

Midwinter Tale is based on the popular Icelandic fantasy world Tulipop, which has captivated children and families in recent years through the animated series Tulipop Tales. The show has aired on Sjónvarp Símans Premium (Síminn) and RÚV, and is also broadcast in over 30 countries outside of Iceland.

The film is produced by Tulipop Studios in collaboration with a large team of talented Icelandic and international creatives. The art director is Signý Kolbeinsdóttir, co-founder of Tulipop and creator of the Tulipop universe and characters. Sigvaldi J. Kárason directed the film, and Gisli Galdur Thorgeirsson composed the music, which plays a major role in the film. Clarisse Charrier oversaw production management, editors are Dagbjört Lilja K. and Sigvaldi J. Kárason, Halldór Snorrason assisted with art direction, Gunnar Árnason at Upptekið handled sound design, Stella Björk Guðmundsdóttir was coordination manager, Steinunn Hákonardóttir and Hilma Kristín Sveinsdóttir at Studio Syrland handled Icelandic dubbing and casting, and Bjarki Guðjónsson, Dagbjört Ósk Gunnarsdóttir, and Eggert Baldvinsson at Trickshot took care of post-production. Icelandic script adaptation was by Bragi Valdimar Skúlason, and the screenplay was written by Sean Carson. The film’s producer is Helga Árnadóttir. Many others contributed to the project in various ways, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to them all!

Great care was taken with the Icelandic voice casting, and the roles of Búi, Freddi, Glo, and Maddy are voiced by talented young actors:

"A Midwinter Tale" ("Vetrarsaga" in Icelandic) will be showing at Sambíó theaters across Iceland starting November 1st!
